The Park District provides year-round activities for all age groups, preschool students to older adults, during the day and evening hours. Quality is very impoprtant to us. Staff has built an excellent reputation by offering a variety of well-established and creative programs. Instructors are carefully selected, and program details are thoughtfully planned so that all participants receive maximum benefits.
Keeping current on the latest in recreation programs is a high priority of staff. Classes for working parents, inter-generational special events, and programs provided through cooperative efforts with other organizations and agencies are a focus of the recreation department. With many program offerings to choose from, we are confident there is something for everyone. We strive to provide quality recreation experiences for all of our residents.

Registration Information
- All classes begin the week of June 4 unless otherwise noted.
- Resident registration (Internet, mail-in, FAX, drop-off): Beginning at 8 a.m. on April 25, registrations received by Leisure Link will be processed immediately in the District’s system on a first come, first serve basis. registrations taken in person at the Pottawatomie or Baker Community Centers, by mail or fax will be held untilApril 25, and randomly processed in a timely manner, which could take up to three working days to complete. All registration forms received on or afterApril 25, through May 3, will be dated and randomly processed daily according to the date received.
- Non-resident registration: Non-residents may begin to register on May 4. Registrations are processed on a first come, first serve basis.
- Complete the registration form in full, including day and/or business phone numbers.
- Provide all pertinent information when registering for more than one class.
- If any person in your family requires a special accommodation to take a class, please notify the Park District at 630-513-6200 at least two weeks prior to the first class.
- Only registrations paid by credit card will be accepted by fax.
- You will not be notified by the Park District unless there is a question or problem with your registration. If you don’t hear from the Park District before the class starts, assume you are in the class.
Leisure Link Online Procedure
Leisure Link is the fast, easy, convenient and secure method of registering for the St. Charles Park District’s recreation programs. This REAL TIME registration system provides users with 24-hour, 7 days per week Internet access to District program information. You may sign up for the majority of programs online, check for program availability, and confirm registrations IMMEDIATELY.
Registering By Leisure Link Online Registration
- Clicking on the My Account tab.
- Entering your USER ID and PIN.
- Browsing and/or searching programs by name or program code.
- Selecting the program you would like to register for.
- Adding the desired program to your Basket.
- For each registration, select the family member you wish to register from the Client Selection drop box.
- Move back and forth between the My Basket and Programs tabs until you have all the desired programs in your basket.
- Click the Register & Continue button to make your payment.
- Make payment and select Complete Transaction. You are not registered for your selected programs until payment is authorized.
- Agree to the waiver. You must agree to the waiver in order to complete the registration.
- Print your registration confirmation for your records.

Registering by Mail, Walk-in or Fax
- Choose the programs you want. Complete the registration form fully with both 1st and 2nd choices indicated and code numbers for all programs. Please be sure to sign your form.
- PLEASE, NO CASH. If paying by check, please total all fees and include your check or money order payable to the St. Charles Park District. Please Note: There will be a $10 charge for all checks returned from your bank for non-sufficient funds.
- To make sure your registration is not delayed, please be certain that your forms are complete, correct and signed. Payment, either check, money order or credit card number (including expiration date) must be included.
- Once you’ve chosen the programs, complete the registration form and select a payment method. You can mail-in, walk-in or, if you are paying by credit card, fax-in your form.
- If the class of your choice is full, you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted about the status of your registration.
How Will I Know I'm In The Class?
You Will NOT Be Contacted To Confirm Your Registration. Please make a note of the classes for which you registered. You WILL be contacted in writing or by phone* regarding your registration in the following cases:
- The class you have requested has reached its registration limit, and you were placed on the waiting list.
- Your second choice was processed.
- Your registration form is incomplete.
- Your class is being cancelled due to insufficient registration.
*For this reason, it is imperative that you provide both your phone number plus an emergency contact.
What Happens When I'm On The Waiting List?
- You will remain on the waiting list until the class begins.
- We will make every effort to create additional classes and contact you if we have been able to do so.
Residence Fee
The resident fee (RES) applies to anyone living within the Park District boundaries. People who live outside the boundaries pay the non-resident (NR) fee listed in the program descriptions. For an explanation of resident vs. non-resident status, click here.
Financial Aid Program
This fund was established by the Park Board to assist economically disadvantaged families and individuals. For more information, click here.
A.D.A. Special Accommodations
The St. Charles Park District will make reasonable accommodations in recreation programs and facilities to enable participation for individuals with disabilities. If you need special accommodations, such as physical assistance, please indicate your needs by notifying Park District staff at 630-513-6200 at least 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the program or event.
Instruction
The Park District cannot guarantee that the instructor listed for each program will teach that class. Instructors are NOT allowed to let more people register than the number established by the Park District.
Cancellations
If a class registration does not meet the minimum established requirement, it will be cancelled one week prior to the start of the program. The St. Charles Park District reserves the right to alter or change the program offered to serve the participants' needs in the best manner possible. Please register early!
What Is This "Satisfaction Guarantee" The Park District Offers?
The Park District is constantly striving to provide the very best recreational services. Therefore, we will do everything we can to make sure you are a satisfied customer!
A. After a participant has attended at least one class, if he/she is not pleased with the program, for just cause, he/she may do ONE of the following:
- Repeat a class at no charge
- Receive full credit that can be applied to any other program.......OR
- Receive a full refund.

C. Refund applications must be made within 10 days after the last class meeting. A cancelled check or proof of identification may be required. Refunds will be processed in the following manner:
If you paid by cash or check, you will receive a refund check within 15 business days after receipt of refund request. If you paid by credit card, the refund will be credited back to your card.
D. The SATISFACTION GUARANTEE refund program will not apply to: Adult sports leagues, food, meals, beverages, Pottawatomie Preschool, tickets acquired from third parties, entertainment,
sporting events, pool daily admission fees, pool season passes or swim lessons, golf season passes, golf instruction, or trips. Refunds for these programs or activities will be governed by such rules in effect for each program or activity.
E. Non-refundable deposits apply to specified programs. This means they will not be refunded. See # 3 under “Other refunds” for applicable programs. Call 630-513-6200 for information.
Other refunds & transfers:
- After a program or activity has started, a refund may be issued for medical or other circumstances (job transfer, change in working hours, death in the family) as approved by the Superintendent of Recreation. Proof will be required in writing prior to the refund being given. The refund will be pro-rated for the services used.
- Trip refunds will be granted only if the vacated spot is filled.
- The following programs have non-refundable deposits: Pottawatomie Preschool, Baker Station After School program, all summer camp programs and specified trips.
- Swimming lessons at Swanson Pool have a separate refund policy. Call Steve Muenz at 630-513-6200 for more information.
- In the event a program is canceled by the Park District, a total refund will be made to all participants.
- The Park District reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration or causes beyond its control.
- If a class is canceled, we will make every effort to contact you by phone.
- You will not be notified by the Park District unless there is a question or problem with your registration. If you don't hear from the Park District before the class starts, assume you are in the class.
For all refunds & transfers (other than satisfaction guarantee refunds),
a $4 processing fee will apply.
