Associated Organizations

The programs listed below are independent, not-for-profit organizations, run by community volunteers. The St. Charles Park District assists a variety of groups in providing recreational opportunities for people of all ages. We do this by maintaining indoor and outdoor facilities and providing additional support to these organizations.

A professionally coached traveling soccer club that promotes fun through individual and team development. The program includes a comprehensive outdoor and indoor training for year-round competition. Programs and teams are available for boys and girls, ages 4-18. Tryouts available year- round.

Fox Valley Mixers Square Dance Club

Dance with us! Square Dancing has been called “friendship set to music.” Meet at the Baker Community Center, 101 S. Second St. (Rt 31) on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays each month. Rounds are at 8pm. Squares are from 8:30-10:30pm. Singles & couples welcome. Lessons begin each September at the same location from 7:15-9:15pm.

Fox Valley Rugby Club

The purpose of this Club is to coach campers on the basic skills of the sport of Rugby with an emphasis on ball handling and kicking skills, positional play and running. Campers will build on their experiences and appropriate skills and tactics will be introduced. Head Instructor Colin Phillips is the Development Officer of the Scottish Rugby Union. St. Charles Boys' Baseball Association

This program provides boys, ages 6-17, the opportunity to enjoy, participate, and develop baseball skills at all levels. Registration begins in December. Season runs the end of May-July. Traveling team tryouts are held in the Fall.

St. Charles Boys Lacrosse Club
The goal of the club is to provide a strong fundamental base for the skills needed to excel in the sport of lacrosse. The lacrosse club is open to students from St. Charles East and St. Charles North High Schools. The club fields a varsity, junior varsity and freshman team and competes against other Illinois club and high school teams. The season runs from late February through early June with registration in early January.

St. Charles Canoe Club

The Club’s emphasis is on recreational canoeing and racing. Everyone is welcome! Ages 12+ can participate in paddling activity along the Fox River. Members meet monthly at the boat dock by the
St. Charles Police Department. After canoeing, members go to a pizza place for dinner. Off-season meetings are held at Baker Community Center. The annual canoe race is held the first weekend in May.

St. Charles Celtics Soccer Club

The St. Charles Celtics Soccer Club, part of the Celtics Sports Foundation, is committed to creating an atmosphere in which soccer players, supporters, spectators, enthusiasts and admirers of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game. We provide the opportunity for League Play as well as pick-up games in both indoor and outdoor environments. The indoor games are played at the Sportsplex in St. Charles and our outdoor field at Campton Hills Park. The majority of our members play in the Adult Over-30 leagues, but our organization is growing. We are now able to provide a place to enjoy soccer for a variety of age groups.

The club meets every Thursday (except holidays) in Baker Community Center at 7 p.m. for off-hand or speed-chess games. Serious non-rated ladder play games start at 8 p.m. Players consist of beginners to experts, but currently no masters. For more information, contact Jeff Wiewel at 847- 818-8913.


St. Charles Girls' & Women's Softball Association
This association is made up of an in-house league, Comets Traveling Fastpitch and women’s softball. In-house: This is a program for girls completing Kindergarten through 8th Grade. The season starts in June and ends by August 1. For information, contact Vicky Nichols at (630) 485-1875. Comets Traveling Fastpitch: This is a program for girls ages 8-17. Strikers Fox Valley Soccer Club

This program promotes the game of soccer through the development of the individual player and team by providing professional and competent skill training in order to maximize the opportunities of the player, the team, and the organization. Approximately 600 youth players, ages 8-18, play on 40 teams. Open tryouts are held each season. Club teams have won three Illinois State Cup Championships as well as numerous local tournament championships.

The mission of the Foundation is to provide a safe, protected environment for our youth to learn and enjoy participating in the sport of both flag and tackle football and cheer leading, understanding and appreciating the sportsmanship and the team spirit it will instill in them. Season starts at the end of July and runs through the middle of November. Registration is held at the end of January and Mid-February. Cost ranges from $250-$325. Additional fund-raising fees are required. This program is for children in grades 1-8.

Tri-Cities Soccer

The Association's goal is to teach the basic skills involved and the actual game of soccer in a positive atmosphere of good sportsmanship and allow participants to have fun and learn teamwork. Competition is a natural part of any sport, but it is not the primary object. Fall session begins the 1st Sat. of Sept. Spring session begins the 1st Sat. of April. Sessions run nine consecutive weeks. Players are assigned to a division based upon birthdate (Under 6-Under 19). Headquarters is located at Campton Hills Park. Hours are Mon.-Fri. from 9am-1pm.
