Preschool programs provide an understanding and caring environment to help your child grow and develop relationships with other children and adults. Teachers assist in nurturing your child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development through play and group activities. Your child will develop both fine and large motor skills, as well as cognitive and language skills. Developing a joy of learning is the goal of our preschool staff! Parents and family members are welcome to use the preschool lounge. |

Carlin Popke Memorial Preschool Scholarship
Carlin Popke, a dedicated preschool teacher, summer day camp
leader and Baker Station instructor, passed away in 1996 following
a valiant battle against a disease called scleroderma. Scleroderma
is a chronic disease involving the circulatory, connective tissues
and immune systems. The cause remains unknown and there is no
cure. Carlin contributed to the lives of more than 1,200 children
through her Park District involvement from 1989 to 1995. In
memory of Carlin's great love for children, her parents - Linda
and Charles Popke - have established the Carlin Popke Preschool
Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is available annually
to an environmentally and experientially needy child who would
not otherwise have the opportunity to attend preschool. Interested
individuals should call 630-513-6200.
