Inclement Weather
What to do if bad weather occurs before practice:The coach and pool management will determine if there will be practice. One hour before a practice, you may call 584-3314 or 513-6200 to determine if practice has been cancelled. Again this decision will not be made prior to 4:30 for night practices and 6:30am for morning practices.

What to do if bad weather occurs during practice: The coach and pool management will determine to end practice in inclement weather conditions (lightening, thunder, heavy rain…). All patrons will be asked to leave the water and pool deck. The coach and team will be directed into the middle room (staff room) of the Pottawatomie Pool building. Kids will be allowed to call for rides. Coach will remain on site until all participants are picked up.

Picture Day
A picture day has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at 5:30 at Pottawatomie Pool. The pictures will probably last until 7pm. Please make sure your child is dressed in Team T-shirt and suit. Group and individual pictures will be done. Order forms will be distributed week of June 9 th. Please bring order form completed to picture day.

Swim Meets
Schedule (tentative-this schedule is subject to change)

June 19 at Fox Mill
June 26 at Geneva Country Club
July 10 at Pottawatomie against Windings
July 17 at Thornwood
July 26 at Thornwood end of season relay meet with all teams (morning meet)

*times for these meets will be set 2 weeks prior to the meet – All Thursday meets are in the evening.

Sign-up: to sign up for the swim meets there will be a sign up posted at each practice 11/2 weeks prior to each meet. If you are interested and able to attend, sign up child on form. On top of the form we will list the location and time of swim meet. You must sign up for the meet the week before the meet occurs which gives coaches time to do the line up and get information back to the swimmer. Swimmers will have their swim meet events in their mailbox the Tuesday before each Thursday swim meet.

Volunteers
To successfully run any swim meet, we need parent volunteers. The following are positions that we will need volunteers to work each swim meet. We will put up a meet volunteer sheet each time we post a meet sign up form so that parents may coordinate which to work with the meets that their child is participating in.

Timers: 6-8
This position is located on the pool deck at the end of each lane. Each timer will be assigned a specific lane. You need to be able to operate a stop watch and document times on each child’s card after you time them.
8&under helpers: 2
This position you need to be able to hold kids in place and order and line them up for their events. We only use this for 8&under group.
Awards: 2
This position writes the name and time on place and participant ribbons after the results are determined for each event
Scoring: 1
This position requires good math skills to score meet
Runners: 1-2
This position requires a lot of walking from one end of the pool to the other to distribute participant’s time cards. They are also in charge of taking swimmer’s cards from timers to the score table. We only use this position for our home meets.
Check-in/hand writers: 4
This position is at the beginning of meet. Persons will highlight each swimmers name on a check-in form when they arrive at the meet and then will write their events on their hands.

Events
Each meet may differ slightly but this is the order of events at each of the meets we attend – (Coaches will be in charge of each swimmers entry for each swim meet). Plan on swimmers to swim between 2-4 events each meet.
